Fascinating (and hilarious!) commentary from our Humpback Whale experts

If your kids have an interest in nature or marine life (or just love animals in general), then taking them whale watching is the ideal holiday activity for the family. One of the great things about our whale watching tours is that the crew are all so passionate about what they do and thus are experts on everything Humpback Whale related. If your little ones have any questions, our friendly crew are only too happy to help! They are gurus on Humpback Whales, and during their commentary when you’re out cruising alongside these beautiful creatures they ask questions, rattle off facts and make keen observations on the whales you’re watching!

Experience the magic of Humpback Whales in their natural habitat

Also, experiencing these beautiful, immense creatures in their own habitat is like nothing your little ones will have seen before. Humpback Whales are incredibly large, peaceful creatures who often are very inquisitive and active! We frequently see amazing whale behaviours such as breaching, tail slapping, mugging and spy hopping on our whale watching tours (which still amaze the crew no matter how many times they see it!). Your kids will have some amazing stories to recount during show and tell when they head back to the classroom, as well as some great family memories for you big kids.

Our new vessel ‘Kaiala’ is the only boat on the Gold Coast purpose built for Whale Watching

Your children are guaranteed the closest whale watch encounters due to the design of our vessels, Mahi Mahi and Kaiala. Our brand new vessel Kaiala is operating for the rest of the school holidays (subject to availability) and really is the perfect vessel for your family to enjoy the magic of whale watching. Kaiala has full wrap-around decks and plenty of space to move, sit and stand (all of which provide great views of the Humpback Whales). There’s an open-air deck at the top for those who want the best views of the ocean and Surfers Paradise skyline, or there are undercover areas downstairs where your family can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.

Recently Weekend Notes writer Susan Jackson got to experience our whale watching tour on our brand new purpose built vessel and she had a whale of a time! Read more about her experience taking herself and her children out here on the Weekend Notes website. A great article for anyone wanting a first-hand account of what bringing your family out on our whale watching tour is actually like - and she took some great snaps as well!

Join us for the whale watching experience of a lifetime with the Family Pass, where one of your children travels for free!

Seats are filling up and there aren’t many days of freedom left for the little ones, so book now to avoid disappointment! You can book online here or give our reception staff a call on +61 7 5538 2111 to book over the phone.
