September School Holidays – Things to do on the Gold Coast
Once again, school kids from primary to high school are set free for two weeks at the end of this week..
And if you’re struggling to find something to do, then why not get out on the water for an incredible day of whale watching!
Here on the Gold Coast we are lucky enough to see Humpback whales migrating past the coast for SIX months of the year.. And when many locals are asked, not many have taken the opportunity to join a whale watching tour.
Whales in Paradise don’t just offer a tour, but an experience! An experience of a lifetime, all in your backyard!
September is a fantastic time to see whales who are now travelling southwards towards Antarctica after breeding and birthing in the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef. We see many calves in September who are keen to show off their new skills to all who will watch.
We also see many displays of breaching, tail slapping, pec slapping and head lunging. We even got to see a few double breaches on one of our tours last week, showing our lucky customers just how incredibly graceful and yet, powerful these gentle giants are.
Departing from the heart of Surfers Paradise, Whales in Paradise offers up to 5 tours daily. Pick the tour time that suits your schedule best, choose from the 7am, 8.30am, 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
Each tour runs for 3 hours and 15 minutes and includes complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, and a beautiful river cruise meandering through the canals of the Gold Coast before setting out in search of the Humpback Whales.
And for all of you in Brisbane without transport, no worries! We offer a Brisbane transfer at 8.40am everyday, which includes return transfers, a light lunch pack, the whale watching tour and up to 2hrs free time to explore Surfers Paradise. The bus returns you to Brisbane at approximately 5pm.
