Migaloo- The White Humpback Whale on the Gold Coast

Ohhh! Word on the sea is that Migaloo, the much loved ALL WHITE HUMPBACK is somewhere along the Gold Coast.

Migaloo (Aboriginal for White Fella) is the only known Albino Humpback in the world.  The last sighting of this mystical creature was July 1st, 2009.  We are so excited to have him back in our waters again.Migaloo was last seen at Coffs Harbour four days ago.  At his typical swimming speed of 8 knots he would have already passed us by.  However...we are hoping good ol' Migaloo has found himself a lovely lady to court- in which case he would be travelling at 4 knots.

Whale Watch Vessels cruise the waters for a period of about 6hours a day, leaving about 18 hours for the whales to swim past unseen.  Its like trying to find a needle in a hay stack!

As if you didn't already have enough reasons to come whale watching with us this week!  See you soon!
