Efforts resume to help stranded Humpback Whale on the Gold Coast.

Efforts will resume this morning for a  stranded 20 tonne juvenile Whale at Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. The Whale was discovered at around 1830 on Tuesday evening by a passer's by.

The Whale rescue team headed up by Trevor Long worked hard yesterday to try and free the Whale however all attempts so far have been unsuccessful. Two attempts were made yesterday to drag the Whale back into the ocean using a boat however on both occasions the rope broke.

The growing crowd of onlookers erupted briefly when the incoming tide lifted the helpless mammal and took him 10 metres out to see, unfortunately it was short lived as the waves quickly pushed him back to the shore.

All action's were postponed late yesterday evening due to the safety issues associated with working in the dark with an incoming tide.
