2016 predicted to be a bumper Whale Watching season on the Gold Coast!
Whales in Paradise are excited with the start of the Gold Coast Whale Watching season kicking off last weekend. Humpback Whales have been passing the Australian east coast and the beaches of the Gold Coast for the past month in small numbers, however the official Whale Watching season started on Saturday 28th May for Gold Coast Whale Watching operators. The season officially beings once there are a good number of Humpback Whales, in order to guarantee daily sightings.
The Gold Coast provides spectacular Whale Watching opportunities with Humpback Whales travelling very close to Gold Coast beaches between May-November each year. Whales in Paradise are based in Surfers Paradise and offer 5 tours daily to see these gentle giants. Whales in Paradise was the Gold Coast’s first whale watching tour operator and we pride ourselves on being pioneers in the local industry. We keep our tour groups to an optimal size, ensuring all of our passengers enjoy optimal visibility and proximity to whales, dolphins, and the many other kinds of marine life we encounter.
We are expecting over 20, 000 Humpback Whales to pass our shores this year! Each year the population increases and we are seeing more and more babies being born in the waters off the Gold Coast in our warmer waters.
Whales in Paradise introduced a new vessel late last year to assist with the increase of passengers wanting to enjoy a whale watching trip with thier families. Whale Watching has become a very popular activity with International Tourists and locals alike, due to short travel times to see the Whales from our Gold Coast location.
